일본 홋카이도의 클럽메드 토마무에서는 한국인 GO들이 두드러진 활약을 보이고 있으며, 용인대와의 오랜 관계를 바탕으로 지난 21일 글로벌 인재 육성을 위한 산학협력 MOU를 체결했다. 이 협약에 따라 매년 용인대 등 국내 대학생들이 GO로 파견되어 어린이·청소년 고객의 성장을 돕고 있다.
또한, 강민경 클럽메드 코리아 대표는 75년의 역사를 가진 클럽메드가 한국인 직원 채용을 통해 용인대와 함께 성장하며 새로운 미래를 열어나가길 바란다고 전했다. 2025/2026 시즌 GO 선발은 6월부터 시작되며, 마운틴바이크, 스키, 양궁, 테니스, 요가, 리조트 투어 등 다양한 프로그램 분야에서 글로벌 전문 인력을 엄선할 예정이다.
GO들은 멘티가 좌절할 때 격려하고, 실력이 향상되면 승급 잔치로 축하하는 등 따뜻한 돌봄을 제공하며, 이러한 서비스로 국내 여행객들도 클럽메드에서 편안한 레포츠와 웰니스 프로그램을 즐기고 있다. 특히, 토마무 인근 리조트에서 30세 총지배인 로건(한국명 이상민)이 한국인이라는 점이 친근감을 더해주고 있다.
Club Med’s slogans, “The place to be happy is here” and “Be a Part of Our Future,” capture its commitment to warm hospitality, treating guests as family and partners. A key part of this approach is the strong mentor-mentee relationship between Club Med’s GO (Gentle Organizer) staff and young guests, which often results in heartfelt farewells after sessions.
At Club Med Tomamu in Hokkaido, Korean GOs have made a notable impact. Building on a longstanding relationship, Club Med Tomamu and Yongin University signed an MOU on the 21st to nurture global talent. As part of this collaboration, domestic university students are dispatched each year as GOs to support the growth of children and teenagers.
Club Med Korea CEO Kang Min-kyung emphasized the company’s 75-year legacy and expressed hope that hiring Korean staff will drive mutual growth with Yongin University, opening new futures. The selection process for GO positions for the 2025/2026 season will begin in June, with candidates chosen for diverse programs including mountain biking, skiing, archery, tennis, yoga, and resort tours.
GOs provide ongoing support by encouraging mentees during setbacks and celebrating their progress with promotion ceremonies. Their caring approach is exemplified by moments such as when a professor and a ski school director rushed to assist a child who had fallen during a program—reminiscent of a caring family member. Furthermore, the growing number of Korean GOs and hoteliers has helped domestic travelers feel at home while enjoying various leisure, wellness, and tour programs at Club Med. Notably, the presence of 30-year-old general manager Logan (Lee Sang-min), a former GO, has added a sense of familiarity and warmth to the resorts in Hokkaido.
